John Phillip has more than 13 years experience in technology, business & organizational development in the high-tech sector.
John began his career in 1994 as a process engineer at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing where he was involved with the expansion of Chartered’s Wafer Fabrication complex at Woodlands. He was subsequently headhunted to lead the R&D & Engineering teams at SENSFab - a nanotechnology start-up venture located at the Singapore Science Park.
After the start-up venture was successfully sold to a leading MNC, John joined the Singapore Economic Development Board as an Assistant Head responsible for developing the data-storage & electronics manufacturing industries. During this time, John was also involved in setting up a consulting unit at the INSEAD business school that helps companies tap into the clusters of emerging technologies & entrepreneurship across Asia.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics (Summa Cum Laude) from Syracuse University (1992, USA) and a Master of Engineering in Applied Physics from Cornell University (1994, USA). John also earned an MBA from the National University of Singapore (2001).
John is a Singaporean and is happily married with two young daughters. He is a keen runner and a regular street-soccer player in his spare time. |
